<div itemprop="description">McKAY, Rae M. May 27, 1929 - August 14, 2014 Passed away at Juravinski Hospital on August 14, 2014. He is survived by Lois, his beloved wife of 65 years; his children David (Susan), Nancy (Norm) and Mary (Winnie); his grandchildren Carolyn (Jason), Scott (Kristin), Steve (Emma), Jennifer and Virginia; and three great-grand- children (Lia, Mary and Duncan). He will also be fondly remembered by Winnie's sons Phil (Angie) and Warren (Julia) and their families, brother-in-law Don, sisters-in-law Grace and Shirley, and many nieces and nephews. Rae, the youngest son of William and Mary McKay, grew up on a farm in St. Marys, Ontario, along with brothers Murray and Don. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of Western Ontario and B. Ed. and M. Ed. degrees from the University of Toronto. Rae spent his working life in the field of education: teaching at primary schools in Monkton, Jarvis and Brantford; teaching at Hamilton Teachers' College; and working in various roles for the Ontario Ministry of Education. After his retirement, he offered his service to various committees and also worked for the Ontario Parole Board. Along the way, Rae and Lois made many friends and maintained an active social life, as well as enjoying concerts, live theatre, dancing, and active participation in the Anglican Church, most recently St. John's, Ancaster. Rae had a wonderful sense of humour and could never resist a good pun. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge throughout his adult life. Burial has already taken place. All are welcome to attend a visitation at Dodsworth &amp; Brown Funeral Home, 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, on September 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service at St. John's Anglican Church, 272 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, on September 26th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's Anglican Church, Ancaster, would be appreciated.</div>
