<div itemprop="description">On January 21, 2015 the Lord took our dear husband, precious father, and much loved &ldquo;Opa&rdquo;, Jack Westerink to his eternal home after a 4 year battle with ALS. He died peacefully in his wife&rsquo;s arms at home. He was a much loved teacher and principal at Rehoboth Christian School, and will be missed by the hundreds of students whose lives he touched. Jack was an &ldquo;open book&rdquo; who lived his life with so much joy and enthusiasm. He served as an elder in his church (Maranatha Free Reformed in Ancaster) and his greatest goal in life was that everyone would know the peace that passes all understanding, which he found in His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Predeceased by a son, Benjamin George (Aug.14, 1980-Jan.17, 1981). He will be dearly missed by his faithful wife Lena who cared for him in his home until his last breath, his children Joni (Willem) Bouma (Lena, Titus, Elijah, Jack, Ella), Sarah (Goran) Beric (Ethan, Maya, Roman, Lucas), Gerrit (Sarah) Westerink (Benjamin, Aliya). Also grieving are his parents Gerrit and Johanna Westerink, sister Marg (Henk) Kleyn, brother Doug (Carolyn) Westerink, sister Joanne (Colin) Herd, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be in the Hamilton Free Reformed Church (1114 Old Mohawk Rd. Ancaster ON. L9G3K9) on Friday January 23, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral will also take place there on Saturday January 24 at 11:00 am (Additional opportunity for viewing from 10-11). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jack Westerink scholarship for students wishing to become a teacher, or to Rehoboth Christian School at www.rehoboth.on.ca</div>
