<div itemprop="description">FORTIER, Roy James Marcel - October 5, 2016 after a life of love and adventure in his 99th year at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke. Born in Ottawa April 22, 1918 to Katie Kelly, a young Irish immigrant from County Roscommon and Joseph Fortier, a barber from Charlesborg, Quebec. Predeceased by the loves of his life Audrey (1984) and Marjorie Dorsey (2016). Loving father of Paula Hoover (Ven 2013), Marian Ewen (Peter) and Joe (Brenda). Forever missed by second family, Elaine Dugas (Mike), Patty (Jeff Staples). Grampa of Megan, Kirby (2005), Dash, Vanessa, Lake, Rowan and Josh, Jessica, Amy, Shaun, Dean, Michelle, Robin, Danny and Steve. Great-grandpa to Noah, Ben, Nate, Bruin, Jagger, Layla, Seth, Claire, Sutton, Emerson, Avery, and Lucy. He was an active member of the Ancaster Tennis Club for many years, he loved to listen and dance to Jazz, while enjoying a martini. Their love of travelling took them to every corner of the world. Roy graduated from Guelph University as an Agronomist and was interested in all forms of flora and fauna. A special thank you to the staff at St. Peters LTC. Donations in his memory may be made to the Royal Botanical Gardens and the SPCA. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E. Ancaster, Ont. on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. Private Family Interment at a later date. <br><br>“We will think of him always as we pass fields of wildflowers blowing in the breeze on a sunny day.”<br><br></div>
