<div itemprop="description">Erik Svend Petersen – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erik Petersen on Wednesday, October 12 in his 73rd year after a long and difficult battle with cancer. Beloved and adoring husband of Loretta. Predeceased by his son Mark. Loving father to Paul (Chertal) and stepfather to Carmen (Stéphane) and Anthony (Shellee). Affectionate and doting grandpa to Sofia, Julien, Kataleya, Santana, and Emmi. Dear brother-in-law of Tony (Janice). He will be dearly missed by many extended family members, friends, and colleagues. <br>Erik was born in Denmark on September 26, 1943. He immigrated to Canada at a young age and spent much of his childhood in the Vancouver area where he was an avid skier. He eventually called the Hamilton area home where he had a long and successful career as a truck salesman. His other passions included barbequing, cooking, anything food related and bragging about his children and grandchildren. <br>Erik’s generous, energetic spirit and love of life touched everyone who knew him. <br>A special thank you to the nurses and staff of E-3 at the Juravinski Hospital. <br>Visitation will be held at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster, on Sunday, October 16 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support cancer research or Registered Nurses.
