<div itemprop="description">United Empire Loyalist (UEL). March 20, 1928 - October 25, 2016<br>Shirley Jean Jackson, beloved wife of the late Dr. Robert Gerard McHarg for almost 62 years. Loving and proud mother of Paul (Debra DeCoste), James Gregory, Peter (Judy Zsemberi), Maureen, Marilyn (David DeCoste), David (Gabrielle Swanton), Kevin (Lisa Schoeman), and Rose Mallais. Much loved Gramma of Peter Lindsay (Veronica Mikalauskas), Sarah Hamilton, Alistair Lindsay, Scott, Andrea, Devan, Madeline, Elisabeth, Alida, and Robert McHarg. She was great grandmother to Makenna, Kadence and Rebekah Lindsay. She was predeceased by infants Margaret and Michael, parents Clarence Maxwell Jackson and Leota Marguerite Nye, and brother Maxwell Russell Jackson. Shirley was a graduate of the Hamilton General Hospital school of Nursing class of 1949B. She was also a graduate of the Music program at McMaster and received her Bachelor Music Degree in 1995. She went on to teach piano, sharing her love of music with her young students. Shirley’s other interests included a study of geneology, and a passion for photography. She was a kind soul with a compassionate heart, and will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH&BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson Street East (905-648-3852) on Sunday October 30 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. ANN’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (Fiddlers Green Rd. at Wilson St. W), Ancaster on Monday October 31 at 11.00 am. With interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. We would like to thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their care and support.</div>
