<div itemprop="description">Rebecca Ann McCartney (nee Hantelman) (b. September 30, 1947 in Fenton, Iowa) died peacefully in her sleep on November 2, at home, listening to classical music, surrounded by her beloved family and JJ her cat. She is survived by husband Terry McCartney, daughter Jennifer (Alex) McCartney, brother Glen Hantelman, sisters Susan (Stephen) Harvey and Mary (Roger) Johnson, nieces Amanda and Christine, nephews Chris and Matt, and extended family in Iowa, Minnesota, California, and England. Rebecca met husband Terry in Kingston, Jamaica, where they both worked, and they were married in 1972. A librarian for 40 years at the Burlington Public Library, she loved books. She was a good wife and a good mother. She was an excellent listener. She had a nice smile. She had a good life, and a good death. We will all miss her terribly but are comforted that we were blessed enough to know her and experience her special spark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rebecca's favorite charity, Wesley Urban Ministries, a non-profit that looks after those in need in the city of Hamilton: Administrative Services, 52 Catharine Street North, Hamilton ONL 8R 1J1, Phone: 905 528 5629, info@wesley.ca.</div>
