Mary Hesler (nee Faulkner)
It is with saddened hearts that the Hesler family announces the peaceful passing of Mary in her 93rd year on 29 January 2014 at St. Joseph's Villa. Predeceased by her husband Major William Charles Hesler, MC, CD, her daughter Susan Pederson (Hesler), her sister and brother in the UK. Sadly missed by her son Robin and his partner Inez Filice, her grandchildren Mike and his wife Farida, Lori and her fiance Scott Tabar, and great grandchildren Ethan and Evan; Jon and Venilde Pederson; her brother-in-law Dr. Richard Hesler; her nieces and nephews in Canada and the UK. Mary was a WW II veteran and survivor serving in the British Army as a planner in the intelligence cell of General B. Montgomery's Southeastern Command for the D Day invasion. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff for the Maple Grove Unit at St. Joseph's Villa for their compassionate care to Mary. She loved animals and was very passionate about giving a home to animals in need of love and care and a donator to many charities over her lifetime. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME "ANCASTER CHAPEL" 378 Wilson Street East, for a celebration of Mary's life on Monday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the S.P.C.A.
