<div itemprop="description">Major E. Alan Keenan CD departed on June 2nd, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton in his 95th year, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (September 2014). Loving father of Tim (Rebecca), David, James (Donna), Robert (Elizabeth). Cherished grandfather of Caitlin, Leigh, Lowell, Corinne, Devin, Jackson &amp; Jacomina. The youngest of 10 children, Alan is survived by his sister Hazel (99) of Sudbury. Alan was a career soldier. Having been wounded in Europe in WWII, he subsequently served in Korea and the UN peacekeeping mission in the Belgian Congo in 1963-64. His last posting was as O.C. at James Street Armouries in Hamilton. Upon retirement, he pursued his love of languages teaching French, Spanish and German at Brantford Collegiate. An avid amateur musician, he was a longtime member of the Bach-Elgar Choir in Hamilton, and of CAMMAC (Canadian Amateur Musicians/Musiciens Amateurs du Canada).A Graveside Service will be held at Whitechapel Memorial Gardens (1895 Main St W, Hamilton, ON L8S 1J2) at 10 a.m on September 12th, 2015.
