<div itemprop="description">Dr. John Hugh Walker passed away at his home on Monday September 21, 2015, at the age of 59. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he moved to Hamilton in 1997 to start his teaching career with McMaster and then Brock University. Dr. Walker held the degrees of MBA and PhD in Management Science from McMaster University, a BSc (honours) in chemistry from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. He joined Brock University in Ontario, Canada in 2000 as an assistant professor. He became a full professor in 2012 in the Goodman School of Business, where he taught information systems, multivariate statistics, operations management and quantitative methods for business at the undergraduate and graduate levels.<br /><br />Dr. Walker was a prolific researcher, working in disciplines ranging from medicine to entrepreneurship in developing and eastern European countries. He also consulted for the pharmaceutical industry, providing economic and statistical analysis primarily associated with clinical trials. A popular professor, as well as an avid swimmer and scuba diver, he contributed much to the Goodman School and to the University, including having served on several Senate committees. <br />Dr. Walker was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Elena, sons Peter and William, and brothers Ian, Marshall, Ashley and Jim.<br />Visitation will be held at the DODSWORTH &amp; BROWN FUNERAL HOME &ndash; &ldquo;ANCASTER CHAPEL&rdquo;, 378 Wilson Street East, on Wednesday September 30th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed immediately be a service in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. <br /></div>
